They were both trying to run with 9760. But your reply made me want to investigate the file type association. So I re-did the association for NZB files and it seems to have corrected it.

Thanks! Works OK again!

Yeah, the problem's not wine...I run linux/wine(32 bit of course)/newsbin on a crazy-ass fast system(cpu and IO) at one location and it positively screams. Everything is *blip*, done. At home, on a slightly more humble system running 64 bit Windows, quad core intel with a more typical consumer hard drive, it has all the same IO symptoms you're describing. I'm pretty sure it's all about disk IO. Bring on moar SSD's!

Ya I really hope they do, my main concern is the hacking and cheating that goes on with most fps games these days.

I have bought all BF games from 1942, BF2, BF 2142, and Bad Company 1 and BF 1943 for my PS3 console.

Heck I even got this strange feeling that they even cheat on PS3.

Punkbuster never really solves anything as I can tell, more of a bloat ware on systems that create more crashing and headaches for most.

I have had hell with Punkbuster to be honest. These hacking/cheating sites have advertised on youtube and google that they in fact bypass PB. Pretty darn sad that someone has to lower themselves to the point of where cheating is the way of life.

I was in a big clan in BF2 with friends and family, back in those day gamming was fun, and all of a sudden the internet started to get flooded by kiddies that wanted to cheat, we had over 50 members and all quit playing because of it. We had snapshots, video etc etc, I was the administrator of our gamming servers, and thus found myself asking for EA's help and never got one thing done.

I had the same problem. My problem was resolved when I freed space on a hard drive that was a "different directory" download.

I did revert to RC1 before I figured this out, but you may want to check the flag for "drive full." In my case, the "different drive" was full, but the main D/L drive was not. So it seems until I freed space on the "different folder drive" it was still queuing D/Ls where there was adequate space.

BTW I have since gone back to 5.55 B9760 and everything is cleared from the D/L queue.

You know, you can select and sort the block to get them in the proper order on one go right? Select the set, column sort on the first column and the order will change.

As for the selection thing, I'm thinking about it.

You ought to set it to send the pars to the par list. You shouldn't need to use pars most of the time.

If your key starts with "GB" you have to download it from the giganews control panel. If it doesn't, download and install if from www.newsbin.com.

Install it, configure it, Run it, enter your key. Then you're done.
