Can multiple Signature.db3 files be combined into one file?

Postby KingFish » Sun Nov 12, 2006 12:24 pm

I have two licenses for Newsbin Pro, and run Newsbin Pro on four different computers, at four different locations, but not at the same time. One a home; one at work; one at my girlfriend's house; and one at my beach house. From time to time, I'd like to combine all four into a single file. How do I do so?

Yeah you can. It's a manual process where you use Sqlite3.exe to dump the SQL from one db3 and import it into another one.

1) Sqlite3 Signature1.db3
2) .output dump.sql
3) .exit
4) Sqlite3 Signature.db3
5) .read dump.sql.
6) .exit.

That should do it.

Just make sure that you use the correct version of sqlite3:
http://www.sqlite.org/sqlite-3_3_8.zip
(not the one that was included w. Newsbin)

Hi,

Is this still true for merging 5.x or 6.x files ?

Thanks!

5.x and 6.x use the same file format. So, 6 will just use V5's files.
