Filtering out special characters

I'm trying to filter out #stern, but I can't figure out how.

If I put \#stern in my filter I still get all the #stern items listed.

I can't use just \stern as the # is part of the name.

On the newsgroups, the listing starts with #stern, but if I download one of the files, #stern is not in the filename.

I really would like to exclude all #stern listings - TIA.

Sounds like you're adding it as a filename reject filter? Try as a Subject Reject filter instead.

Have you remembered to tick the box that activates the subject reject filter - I have forgotten that in the past!

It's on my Reject Subject Filter list and Reject Subject Filter box is ticked.
Other words from the same list *are* getting filtered out.

try [#]stern instead. The \ escape character behaves oddly sometimes.
