Some Idiosyncrasies

Ver 6 b5
Finally got my head around the new GUI but was having problems going from a 3 pane view to a 2. It appears that the Search tab is critical to where new tabs are created. If Search is hidden, then new post lists are created as a 3rd pane and even after docking, this is not remembered. If Search is docked in top pane (of 2), then post lists are created docked there. If Search is moved to bottom pane docked, then post lists are created there. I can live with that but I normally have search hidden and was unable to get the GUI to function properly. Couple of other observations:
1. Update all headers are added to download list in reverse order, No biggy, but I review headers typically in the order I have them listed.
2. If you delete all posters from rejected posters, then it doesn't happen. Delete all but one works. This has been the case for several versions.
3. Guitems.db3 is being created in appdata\local\newsbin instead of the data folder.
4. In options, why not show the path to the data folder?

Enjoying the new beta and great job to all involved.

1 - known issue

3 - always has been there, never has been in the data folder
4 - i will assume people will see the path and try to change it from within the options

To clarify, the data path was deliberately made non-trivial to get at(there's a howto in the docs). It's easy to pooch your setup if you start fiddling with it.

In options, why not show the path to the data folder?

Click the "Open Data Folder" button and it opens an explorer window right to it.

GuiItems is in a common place so all instances of Newsbin have the same GUI setup. It stores encrypted backups of the NBI files too. You can have multiple data folders and multiple NBI's for instance.
