What does V6 do to files with poster lockout

What does V6 do to files with poster lockout

Postby Bismark » Tue Jul 05, 2011 10:36 pm

In V5, they had a status of Locked Out, but displayed. Now they just disappear. Does V6 delete them? Not a bad idea, just wanted to understand what happens to them.

If you have filters enabled, they're hidden. If you disable the filters you should see them.

Better than locking them out is the right click "Delete all posts from Poster". It deletes them permanently.

I have no filters set that I know of.

Locked out a poster and poof he was gone. And if I can't see him, I can't unlock him.

Went to NewsbinData/PosterLockout.txt and removed him from lockout list. Not poster or messages returned.

Went to NewsbinData/PosterLockout.txt.bak and also removed him from that lockout list.

Then reloaded all headers for that group. Kinda odd, "Donald Duck" and his messages are still gone.

See the power on/off icon to the left of the filters? That enables and disables the filters. I locked someone out and depending on whether I enable the filters or not, they show up or don't show up.

They show up with a red icon and status says "Poster Lock" bla bla

I never used filters and not sure what to do.

But even after removing Donald Duck from the lockout files and "load all headers", he is still gone.

Ditto "Free Net Love Admin". Gone and no return, or the messages are gone.

Maybe after a reboot.

- If you deleted him - he's gone. "Delete all posts from poster" does what is says.

Other than downloading headers again, you won't see the deleted posts again.

You toggle the button I mentioned on and off and...what happened?

Not sure what button you mention. Toggled that circle with an upward line that is to the lrft of "Filter Profile". Ahh, screen blanked and now
"Donald Duck" and "Free Net Love Admin" are back.

What did I do?

Ahh
OK, the locked out poster keeps returning to the "PosterLockout.txt" when I click something somewhere. And since I can see them again I can click the filter button and unlock them and they stay off the "PosterLockout.txt" file.

So it is filtering "Filter Profile" using the names that keep returning to the "PosterLockout.txt" file.
