Intersocket Error: Connection Failed

Postby noobie » Tue Sep 13, 2011 4:54 pm

Hi guys,

I've just rebuilt my computer, was using NB 5.x for years.

Couldn't find my registration key, but while I looked I was running NB 6.0 on trial and it worked brilliantly ... until I registered it - it's only money ... :)

Since registering it tonight, I now get:

[20:49:22] ERROR InterSocket - Error: Connection Failed, Host:192.168.1.12Error Code: 10061No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

My .nbi is pointed at where it was, I haven't made any firewall changes / computer changes / etc ... all I did was register it.

The only thing I have changed is the Host address from Loopback to 192.168.1.12 ... as I found something on here about this (it hasn't changed anything).

I can telnet http://www.giganews.com 119 fine, I've tried both SSL and non-SSL (my giganews account gives me 20 sockets and SSL)

Not sure what else I can do guys ... any ideas ??

Thanks,

Rob

Ther address 192.168.1.12 cannot be valid - that is an address on your local network. You should be giving the address of your Giganews server. The port will depend on whether you are using SSL or not. The port you tested (119) is for none- SSL connections.
