par2 and nzb

Postby mikeod » Tue Sep 27, 2011 4:17 pm

I've just done a fresh install of 6.10 on a fresh install of Windows 7 32 bit. Nice. One question. When I download a set of MP3's with a PAR2 using an NZB the PAR2 ens up in a different folder to the MP3s which makes testing the MP3s a bit awkward. I's there a tweak to make all files in an NZB download to the same place?

You have autopar disabled? Are you using MP3 filename mode?

I have autopar disabled only because I like to download and repair etc separately.

As for MP3 filename mode, yes I am. I didn''t change anything on that page so is that it? The mp3s go in a subfolder named after the ID3 while everything else doesn't.

Yeah, because the PARS don't have ID3 tags, they don't get moved with the MP3's. If on the other hand, you had autopar turned on, the MP3's would be downloaded to the same folder as the pars and then they'd get moved to the ID3 folder after they were validated and repaired (new feature in 6.1). For you, I'd probably disable ID3 mode and then download to a folder you assign( right click, download to new folder maybe). In that way the pars and MP3's will always be together.

Thanks for the info. I will play with autopar and MP3 mode.

just for info, I downloaded a set of audiobooks in which each track had a different ID3 tag "01 book 1" "02 book 1" "01 book 2" etc so I ended up with about forty folders each with one MP3.

Thanks again.

Rather than having audio files put into a folder named after the ID3 tag, you might find it prefereable to use the mode where a folder is named after the NZB file. That always keeps all the files from a particular NZB file together.
