Should the 'state' column on the Connections tab indicate Disconnected after I execute 'kill all connections' ?

If you're downloading, it'll just re-connect again. What are you trying to accomplish?

I was troubleshooting a connection problem - not related to newsbin. I 'paused' a long running download and waited for the throughput to cease. I thought cleanly disconnecting from the 10 giganews connections I had would just be a good thing to do - so they'd terminate normally rather than being severed. That's when I looked at the connections tab and it showed everything connected. Maybe in pause mode it won't actually disconnect even if asked to.

Could be. Paused, it should disconnect within 5 minutes anyway. That's if you use the main pause button, most pausing the individual items.
