Drive failure looked like Newsbin problem.

One of our users was having problems. He had a high speed FIOS connection and a good server but, his downloads would run for a short time and then stall out. Dex was working with him on this one.

1 - He had no errors at all in the logging tab.

2- Everything else on his system seemed to be working fine.

He sent Dex a screen shot and we both noticed his "Cache N/MM" line on the status bar was zero. That means Newsbin had downloaded all it could and wasn't able to land the chunks of the file on disk. I wasn't sure if it was a problem IN Newsbin or something else. Dex emailed and asked about the disk drive. That jogged his memory. He'd gotten a replacement SATA drive from Seagate right before this problem started and it was this drive what was the download drive.

He switched his downloads to one of his other drives and everything started working again. I don't know if "Smart" would have shown a problem with the drive or not. Apparently it was just stalling out.

That's sort of a typical troubleshooting problem. What was unusual is that we found a solution. Often times, when we suggest the problem is the PC. The user doesn't want to here it.
