Speed Limiter Slider

Postby inigo » Tue Jan 31, 2012 2:42 pm

This may be the wrong forum, but I would like to point out that for "S-L-O-W" DSL users, the new slider for the Speed Limiter is near worthless. On a good day, I can get 400 Kbps bandwidth. The slider goes from ~100 to the next setting of ~400. Basically, all or none. Being able to input a speed (like Newsbin 5.35) was MUCH better.

Is there a workaround that I am missing?

You can use the arrows to arrow the speed lower. So, set it close, then use the arrows to get to exactly what you want.

I'd suggest running fewer connections to make the connection sharing better too.

Never thought of the arrows - was using Mouse only.

Thanks, Quade! works great! I'm happy again!

I'll try the connections thing - I was set on "8".

On a slowish connection you might want to stick to 3-4. You'll find that Newsbin can probably still run full speed but, it plays nicer with web browsing and email.
