It looks like there's some kind of trend shaping up for posters to use 7-zip for multipart posts. Guess that could be due, at least in part, that 7-zip is free to use, unlike RAR. Now, I have a paid-for copy of RAR so I don't have a dog in that fight, but the problem that use of 7-zip instead of RAR causes is that Newsbin doesn't recognize it and won't automatically process the downloaded parts.

Any chance 7-zip unpacking might find its way into Newsbin sometime in the future?

It's on my todo list. Every now and then I look for an alternative to the WinRAR lib I use.

It's now SEVEN years since that request was posted, could this support finally be added to newsbin?

I have it working these days but I'm in the middle of re-doing Newsbin's internals and haven't had a chance to do a beta yet.

Dex found another issue with some NZB files and mis-named PARS so, I might need to push out a beta with the old code to fix that.

ok, but if you have working version that has 7-Zip support, please put it out asap, beta or not, we have been waiting for that for 7 years
