Critical Error Messages #10060 and #10057

Postby anon321 » Mon Apr 08, 2013 8:59 pm

I am getting two error messages (10060 & 10057) when trying to download a file using the secure Easynews server on port 563. If I switch servers to the unsecure Easynews server on port 119, no errors.

What setting can I change in Newsbin Pro to eliminate the critical errors?

PS: Details of the error messages and version being used below.
-----------------------------------
NEWSBIN 6.42 BUILD 2148 ERROR CREATED 4/8/2013

Server was secure.news.us.easynews.com, port 563, with login required.
I added an .nzb file into Newsbin. I added one file from the .nzb to be downloaded, bypassing the filter.

The following Critical Error Messages were the result.
[19:17:12] ERROR - Error: SSL Negotiation Failed, Host: secure.news.us.easynews.com Error: SSL Connection Failed: 5 Error 10060 A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

[19:17:36] ERROR - Error: Socket Connect Failed, Host: secure.news.us.easynews.com Error Code: 10057 A request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is not connected and (when sending on a datagram socket using a sendto call) no address was supplied.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: I do NOT get the errors when switching my server to news.us.easynews.com with port 119 and login required. The login is the same for both the secure and not secure servers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is wrong with my settings in Newsbin?

Maybe nothing. If you have a virus scanner or firewall, you might make them ignore traffic on that TCP port. 90% of the time, errors like this are security software stepping on the connections.

What port do you have configured in Newsbin for the SSL connections? They normally need a different port to non-SSL connections.

I will check the security settings.

The port for the SSL is 587.

Thanks for the replies.
