ERROR AssembleSpoolFile - Unable to open Spool file win 10

Postby coastersteve » Wed Aug 12, 2015 6:37 am

Hi,

I've upgraded to windows 10 and ever since I've been having the following error when trying to download anything:
ERROR AssembleSpoolFile - Unable to open Spool file:

I've tried un-installing and reinstalling newsbin but still get the same error. I've checked and verified that the path is correct and valid, but still the same.

Can anyone help?

What folder are you downloading to? This sounds like a permissions problem. Like you have the download path set to a folder you can't normally write to in Win10.

Has anyone find out how to fix this? I am getting the same error. I download to to a Newsbin folder that I created before Windows 10 was installed and was working great before the Windows update. I have tried to go in and reselect the same folder under options

I'm getting the same error sometimes with Win 10 and the latest version of newsbin. I'm going to try an earlier newsbin.

Edit - I think my extrnal hard drive that I was downloading to is acting up. I'm testing it now.

The drive letters don't always stay the same. If you're downloading to the D drive and now in Win10 it's the E drive, you need to change the download path in Newsbin or the drive letter for the drive.
