Internet search results incomplete

Postby RayMark » Tue Jul 19, 2016 10:15 pm

When I ran the internet search for poster field with the search string

[search string removed] - no longer needed, perhaps it was wrong to expose it in the first place

two items - rars (not nfos) were not found:

160703_01
160703_02

The rest (160703_03 - 160703_05) were found
However, the Easynews Global Search finds them.

Turns out, they are a bit different than usually:
1. they have [READNFO] in the subject
2. the rars are password-protected
3. the rars contain files with real names inside instead of the number-coded-named files
4. The date of the post is 2016-07-12 for those two missing items, but 2016-07-13 for the rest of 160703_

The 3rd difference probably is not the reason.

The 4th difference might indicate a temporary loss of the feed, or the DB server down or something - then perhaps there is nothing to fix here. However, there are other posts in the Newsbin internet search results from 2016-07-12, such as 160702_..., so if the was something down, it was not for long.

It would be good to fix this, because who knows what else is not returned in various search results.

I get this with 6.71 RC1, but probably the same would be with RC3. It is probably an issue with the Internet Search, not with NewsBin. But I will re-check with RC3 later.

I found them all. You need to turn the spam filters off in the spam options.

Specifically the bottom 2.

Thanks a lot!

The very last one - Hide Encrypted Search Results

I am very sorry, I did not even know there were spam options...
