Clean up/Delete Par files after download

It strikes me that every now and then, after a successful download and after the files have been unrar'ed and files have been deleted, some PAR2 files are left.

it is a minor thing and no it is no problem to delete those files using Windows Explorer.
Just curious why not -all- files are removed.

So the normal sequence is

1 - Download a single par
2 - Download the rars
3 - Repair/unrar
4 - Cleanup.

What can happen, particularly if the files aren't grouped is that between 2 and 4 unneeded PARS download which aren't caught before stage 4 so they fall outside of the normal cleanup pass. Not pausing the PARS can make this more likely to happen.

I've been looking into perhaps adding a post cleanup...cleanup say once I know a download completed, filter out all subsequent pars with the same parid. The problem is what happens if someone really wants to re-download? If it ok to then require a Newsbin restart or something?

As for your question: obviously I can't speak for others but I, myself, reload the .nzb and then use bypass filters to redownload.
Don't know if that answers your question though.

Yeah. I'm talking about an inner filter that drops any PARS from downloads completed in that session. It's a different mechanism than the normal dup-check. As long as you're not re-downloading in the same session, it shouldn't be an issue.
