Not saving my NEW Server

Using NewsBin 6.81 build 5080 and trying to add a new server to my list.
I type in all the info click OK. Then when I close Newsbin and reopen the server is gone.
I've tried typing in the info and then File/Save Configuration with the same result, the server is gone on restarting.
I've checked my NBI file is it is not read only, the save date does update on the file.
Also tried an update/reinstall.

Using WIndows 10 Pro, what should I try next?

Thank you

1 - Enter the server, hit the save button, second button from the left on the main toolbar, then look in the NBI with a text editor

2 - Try a different name. Maybe something simple. "BlaServer". Then try #1 again.

3 - In the file menu hit "file/ Save Configuration As" note what folder and filename it defaults to. Make sure it's the same NBI you checked.

Problem SOLVED!
Just incase someone else has this problem in the future.
The simple solution was I needed to run Newsbin with the "Run as Administrator"
Weird, But this worked!

Thank you for your help.

Yeah, this means you have a permissions problem. The NBI isn't owned by the user running Newsbin or is read only. What folder is the NBI in? Some user accounts can't write to some folders.

Man Windows 10 can be such a pain at times.
This is a newer system build, so I:

1. Open Local Security Policy
2. Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options
3. EDIT User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode
From enable to Disable, should fix the admin problems, if anyone else is having this trouble.

Thank you for the help

That works but the real solution is to move the Newsbin Data Folder into a location that your user account has full rights *without* admin access. The procedure for moving the Newsbin Data Folder is here: http://help.newsbin.com/index.php/V660- ... r_location
