Are items in the Wish List supposed to unRAR into the designated unRAR folder?

Yes. It's working that way for me. I just rested it.

The "download path" column shown for each item in the Wish List is

N:\NBDOWN\a.b.multimedia

Under Settings, UnRAR Folder

P:\Downloads\$(GROUP)\

But files end up being downloaded to N: and UnRAR'd there.

Maybe I need to try the beta. I assume that's what you're using? I'm on 5058. Have not installed new version in a while, so I don't know why this just started happening.

Just did a quick test.

Download from a Watch Topic list, UnRAR to folder specified in Settings.

Download from Wish List, UnRAR to same folder as downloaded.

Once you feed something to the wish list, the wish list paths then apply to the downloads. You should probably check the settings in the wish list. Feeding an NZB to the wish list disassociates it from the NZB.

- NZB to Download list - NZB filename follows to download list.
- NZB Watch to download list - NZB Filename follows to download list.
- NZB to post list, when you add to download, the NZB Filename follows.

- NZB -> Wish -> Download: The NZB filename is lost when you add to the wish list. The download paths will then be the wish lists download paths.

Ok, I might have figured it out. First, Wish List has no settings that I can find. It's not in the Groups List pane.

But, these items were added to the wish list from a Watch Topic - and you can specify settings there. So using this method, I can't download to one drive and UnRAR from that drive to a different one. But at least I think I understand why now.

Nix that. Apparently the Download Folder for Watch Topics is read-only. You can change it, but it just reverts.

oh, I see, it's on the individual Watch Topic. Ok, more things to try.

ok, I think I've got it sorted out now. I had not specified any download path for any Watch Topics. Updated all of them to match the path I've always used for groups. Added an item from the watch topic to the wish list, downloaded from the wish list and it worked as expected. It downloads to the path specified in the Watch Topic, then UnRAR's to the UnRAR path.

Yeah, you wrote "wish list" and I thought "watch/custom" list. They have path settings but the wish list doesn't.

Ok, I wasn't paying attention. I thought I was downloading RARs. But I was downloading the native file which was just collected in Chunks then assembled to the download path specified in the Watch List.

I've always just downloaded to one physical drive then unRAR'd to a different one. I don't see a way to accomplish that when downloading a native (non-RAR) file.

Watch Topic path n:\downloads\$(GROUP)\
Main Download Folder n:\downloads
UnRAR Folder P:\review\$(GROUP)\

With that setting, RAR's work as desired. Downloaded to the Watch Topic path, then UnRAR'd to the UnRAR folder.

Non-RARs download to the Chunks folder and are assembled in the Watch Topic path. Which IS accurate based on the setting, just not what I was attempting to accomplish.

As long as the file has PAR files. Newsbin will treat it like a rar set and move them to the unrar folder. Naked files with no pars or rars just land in the download folder.
