Version 6.52 Final Release

Postby dexter » Thu Jul 17, 2014 10:38 pm

We feel like 6.52 is pretty solid at this point and are ready for the production release. I have turned on the translations so you can now run 6.52 in your native language if the translations are complete enough. If you have contributed in the past to the translations, your account is still active on the Newsbin Translation Wiki so please jump on and do the updates. Let me know when you are done so I can add more time to your Internet Search subscription for contributing to the translations. If you are interested in contributing and have not done so in the past, please contact us.

There were some small changes since the last Release Candidate:

  • Updated internal version numbers for final release
  • Turned on language translations
  • Fixed crash issue saving NZB files
  • Fixed issue where .nb2 files were lying around after a filename filter match
  • Fixed issue where incomplete files were not getting padded out when "Assemble Incompletes" was invoked.

More information and the download link is on the Newsbin Beta Page.

Thanks for getting this fix in. Seems to be working. No more leftover files.

I mentioned this before but I am still getting these errors when it tries to unrar.
NO UNRAR.

It has just downloaded the complete file set, then proceeded to download all the par's for it, even though quickpar shows no errors.

This is running under wine, so is it a wine issue?
I can unrar the files happily under Linux but I thought that NB was meant to unrar them itself?

I don't normally use NB to download or unpack so only occasionally see this message.

AutoPARPlugin: Global Autopar UnRAR Disabled: No Unrar:

AutoPARPlugin: Per Group Autopar UnRAR Disabled: No Unrar:

AutoPARPlugin: Autopar Block Counts Indicate good files but, RARS are Encrypted: No UnRAR:

AutoPARPlugin: Autopar Block Counts Indicate good files but, UnRAR FAILED: No UnRAR

These are the only messages in Newsbin that say "No UnRAR". "No UnRAR" is a statement of status. It's not a program name.

Which one do you see?

I thought I had copied the whole line but only the filename and I had closed NB at that point. Hence only the unrar part.
It is the last message.
AutoPARPlugin: Autopar Block Counts Indicate good files but, UnRAR FAILED: No UnRAR

It downloads fine then starts to download all the par2's as well.
I will see I can get an other error message this morning.
EDIT:
[10:16:20] ERROR AutoPARPlugin: Autopar Block Counts Indicate good files but, UnRAR FAILED: No UnRAR: <FILE>

Ok, so the problem is unraring. It's probably a folder permission issue or some incompatibility between the windows unrar code and running under wine. I'd suspect the former, a problem with folders. It looks like it's trying go unrar but, the unrar fails every time.

I'd set Newsbin so, the rars all unrar to the same folder as the download. So, disable all unrar paths and then see that happens. I'd probably remove any path modifiers from the download path too just to keep things simple.

My rars are not unraring either although they are complete. I forgot to check the log for any error messages, sorry. Also if I need a par or two they don't download automatically.

Not having any problems with unraring but, not getting pars is a real issue. I'm prepping an emergency update to fix that.

I'd look at the logs for the RAR stuff.

Another unrar "issue".
Does unrar only happen if they have par(2)'s?

I have downloaded several files that are complete, but don't get unrared - no error messages. Checked the GoG properties and "don't unrar" is unchecked.

I think that is the case. It is very rare nowadays to see rar sets posted without accompanying par2 files.

Not in the groups I visit
The par(2) is the rarity rather than the standard in them.

It tries to unrar finished files in sets, with no pars.

Sorry I don't understand.
If I add ONE file to the d/l list <10Mb, it combines it fine then leaves it as a rar. I expected it to unrar it as per the settings. I can't add any par's as there isn't any to add.

So do I need to pass these to sabnbzd as well, it will unrar even without par's.

Sets or singletone? Kenr is saying singletons won't unrar.

PM me the subject to one of these parless sets. I've watched it unrar parless rars but, I'd like to try yours.

Confirming, same problem using a par-less file set. All necessary archives are downloaded, but are not un-rared afterwards.

You guys have autopar enabled right? It's not going to do anything if it's disabled. I did this testing with 6.53RC1 which is the version you should be using (though it shouldn't matter).

1 - I loaded up a group. Found a smallish par set and made an NZB from it.

2 - Loaded up the NZB into an editor. Removed all the PAR files.

3 - Loaded the NZB and then added the file to the download list.

4 - It downloaded and unrared.

Second Test:

1 - I drag and dropped the NZB onto the download list.

2 - It downloaded and unrared.

Third Test:

1 - I copied the file to one of my NZB Autoload folders.

2 - It downloaded and unrared.

Fourth Test:

1 - I Double-clicked the NZB.

2 - It downloaded and unrared.

This rar set was only a couple hours old. It downloaded and unrared perfectly multiple times with no PAR files. So, at this point I don't know what you're seeing. You MUST have autopar enabled for this to work though. Make sure you haven't disabled unraring in the group properties too.

Same here--complete rar files not being extracted--autopar enabled. (Windows 8.1) . Started a few beta ago. Also happens with nzbs.

Are the files ending up in the failed list? Without pars, files that exceed retries get dumped into the failed list. You can add them back to the download list from, there.

I'd recommend that everyone run 6.53RC1. It fixes some significant problems in 6.52.
