Quick UnRAR/Sample deletes incomplete files.

Postby Mobius » Wed Feb 23, 2011 3:38 pm

Is there an option to retain incomplete files when decoding files? This used to be the behavior. It's useful to get first few rar files, unrar/sample and view the incompleted file to make sure it's what I want. Now, notification appears telling me of possible corrupted/incomplete file and I no longer get my sample file even though there's an entry in the file list for the sample file. I thought being able to sample incomplete files quickly was a great feature of NewsBin.

I sample from the files list.

Which sample item are you using? Files or Download list?

I am sampling from the files list as well. When I have .rar and .r01, I select the rar, right click and quick unrar/sample. I get error message about it being incomplete, password protected, or corrupted. I do have the new feature to fail encrypted files enabled. Not sure if that is relevant. I have not tried with it disabled yet. Sampling incomplete files was working in previous beta with that option enabled though.

I get error message about it being incomplete, password protected, or corrupted.

That's because a sample is both incomplete and corrupted as far as RAR is concerned.

Still, it's not leaving samples so, it is broken.

Thanks
