Deleting junk posts...impossible

Postby nicolbif » Wed Mar 16, 2011 7:15 pm

Hi,

another issue : I can't delete a big amount of headers (virus/trojans)
When I reopen the group, they are still here...

I've got this problem in previous version of newsbin.

Any workaround/solution ?

Thx to developpers for their great job !!!

Regards

Nico (sorry, not fluent in English)

In the options check "Hide Progress" then try some small deletes. Then try some larger ones. You have to "Shift-Delete" to delete them. They'll come back of you re-download headers too (not update, re-download).

So, I checked "hide progress..." and try to delete 1000 posts (4.2mb each) = same issue :(

Then I try to delete 50000 posts (in severals steps)...20000 are still there when I reopen the group
It was impossible to remove them after...

New idea? ;)

I just tested this last night with 12000 files, also around 4M(I'll bet it's the same spam) and it worked fine. As you were asked - you did use *shift* delete, right? Delete just marks them old.

I think on a big group it coud take considerably longer than a few minutes.
