New "Post autopar" filter in the coming B7

Postby Quade » Thu Mar 24, 2011 11:36 am

B7 allows you to create a filter profile and apply it to files that come out of autopar.

1 - Generate a new filter profile. I called mine "UnRAR"
2 - Using ONLY the filename reject and accept windows, add filters.

Reject:
[.]txt$
[.]url$
[.]html$
[.]srr$
sample
...

3 - In the autopar options, both enable and select your new filter.

Now, when Newsbin does an unrar/repair and just before the files are sent to the files list, it applies this filter and will delete any matching files.

Someone on IRC suggested the $ and I agree with him. It ties the extensions to the end of the filename so

[.]txt

Matches this for instance

this.txtifyme.jpg

[.]txt$

Won't.

It used to work fine. then i uninstalled NB, reinstaleld it, set exactly the same filters but NB doesnt clean up these files for some reason.

loggin says

[13:20:22] ERROR - HFC: Rejected RAR Filter: Filename Filter
[13:20:42] ERROR - HFC: Rejected RAR Filter: Filename Filter

but files are still there

Actually, Quade, when i reduced header overlap to 10 instead 5000 it has helped. Now Nb deletes postpar extentions in 95% cases. nfo is left intact from downloading 2 cd release for some reason mostly
everything else is deleted

This only applies to what's inside the RAR, not files in general so, if you're download NFO's that are outside of the RAR files, this filter won't apply.

oh thats a bitch then... so to speak :)

all scene releases have nfo not RARed.It is posted as part of a collection
The obvious solution for a user might be to block nfo at the very beginning like sample files- reject file filter but quite often nfo as well as sfv are included in PAR2 checking. Thusblocking them at the beginning might lead to repairing

Newsbin ignores NFO's and other junk files when it's time to look into repair. If the rars are 100% and the only other files missing are NFO's and SFV's, Newsbin just unrars. So, I think it's safe to block them out of hand. Let me know if that doesn't work. Samples mentioned in the PARs are problematic though. I might be able to make it ignore samples too.

Ive blocked them and it has been working so far.
Now if only i could block sample par 2 downloading.. sample fiels are blocked, yet sample par2 are not.
