Search of Unsorted Group Problem 6.0RC3 B998

Did a few searches of various Sorted Groups - got reasonable results. Started an Unsorted Groups search; a Critical Error Message dialog instantly appears with a few occurrences of this message:

[23:59:25] ERROR - Resolver: Unable to open Source Data file

The search result list is not updated from the first search. Apparently the error is a show stopper.

The Unsorted Groups' spool area contains 10 groups, ~1-2 GB of data.

You get the message because, at least one of the groups doesn't have a folder in the spool_v6 folder, meaning it's probably an invalid group. Whatever the reason. If newsbin tries to read a group that doesn't have a folder, it reports this error. It continues to search through the other groups though.

My Unsorted collection includes enabled and disabled groups. Could the disabled ones be the error source, because they didn't have a folder? I'd expect the disabled groups to be ignored in the first place so as to not generate this kind of error but no biggie.

FWIW, after leaving the disabled groups disabled, but fetching their minimum number of headers (related to your comment), the message no longer appears during a search.

Thanks

It's just an error message. It doesn't hurt anything. Disabled groups just don't get headers downloads, otherwise they're treated the same as enabled groups.

I could probably remove the error since it doesn't do anything.
