Summary:

  • Fixed issue downloading UUEncoded posts
  • Re-worked unrar filenaming to rename the file before it copies.
  • Fixed issue in AutoPAR when assigning a new password, it wasn't getting used right away.
  • Fixed crash issue if you try to do a reload on an NZB file.
  • Fixed issue where low level unrar errors were not getting logged in the Logging tab.
More details and the download link is on the Newsbin Beta Page.

When I open a Group it goes through the loading process, new "blue bar" takes ages compared to 6.21F1

Flashes up available downloads then disappears.

No filters set

Also notice with this and B1 a lot more "Not Responding" less than 20% processor in use, loads of drive space and 8GB ram spare

Reverted back to 6.21F1 Files re-appear

re installed B2 and this time files appear. May have been a glitch

Thanks for the report. Typically something like this is in the filters. The posts all load, are in memory but, the filters prevent them from being displayed.

Isn't the max reties setting at 0 not possible anymore?
Cause when i set to 0 press ok and check the options later it is set to 1.
I tried other numbers like 9 and 120 and they stay the same like it should.
Also i still have a view panel without grid line in beta 2.

Happy new year btw :)

Yeah, 1 is the minimum now. You want to disable retries and just have it assemble whatever it's got? Or try forever and not assemble?

It depends on your server and network. Many people seem to have intermittent access to the news server while downloading. Chunks turn red even though the server had the chunks. In a case like that 2-3 retries is a good idea to get the most chunks before Newsbin assembles the files. So, if you only have one server, I'd probably set it to at least 3. The retries do nothing if everything downloads perfectly so, using 4-5 retries really costs nothing. Depending on the server though, it might be the difference between a successful download and not.

I've been seeing these in the log for every group I've download from. Anything to be concerned about?

[15:30:35] ERROR - CNNTPStorageSqlite: Unable to open Group database Group:Name.your.group.here

Well. It depends. If the group is empty then it's not unusual. If you're downloading to an existing group it suggests a real problem. Are you downloading to an existing group or downloading to an empty one?

It appears it's not every group as I previously mentioned. I always delete the group after I download from it so it shouldn't even exist. Oh, and the message appears when I'm downloading headers. The headers do appear and I can download from them.

Is why you see the message every time then. I'd say it's a non-issue for you then.
