Indication a local search is in progress?

Could be there's a 6.60B9 GUI configuration option I'm missing. If not, it would be great if we could see a progress bar (or some other indicator) while a local search is in progress. TIA.

Not working in 6.60B15 either.
Would appreciate it's return?

When I do a local search, I see a popup progress bar at the bottom of the search window. I tried it with the main search window and with the extra search windows. You're not seeing it? If the progress bar is visible, it's still searching.

On the search tab, this happens to me about 95% of the time.
I hit search and nothing seems to happen at all.
One very rare occasions I see the blue progress bar at the bottom indicating something is happening.
But if it even appears it often appears only for the last bit of time before the search finishes.
Most of the time it never appears.

If I search/filter in a news group tab it works more often than not but even there it doesn't appear.

This has been happening with all the 6.60 betas

So you're seeing this with B15 too?

Yes,

Exactly as described above in B15 also.
I have occasionally seen a blue bar while searching usually near the end of the search.

The only indication I get that anything is being processed is the hard-drive indicator
or if anything is actually being found.

ok this is actually an issue.
But I think it's not what everyone is expecting.

First when I talk about "a search going on" I mean
I went to the Search tab and started a search there
as opposed to filtering a newsgroup display

I've been seeing this in all the betas and even RC1.
HOWEVER
What I have noticed is that in Beta 15 and RC1 at least when I start a search
The "indicator bar" does appear
BUT
most of the time it stays a solid gray rather than the sliding blue and gray.
So unless I look hard it appears that no indicator is present.
However from a developer standpoint "the indicator is really present"

So the issue I'm seeing is that the indicator is not really doing the job of indicating that a search is in progress.
The expectation is that we should see a cylon-like blue band in the gray bar sliding back and forth or always side to side in one direction.
This expectation is not being met for many people.

Here is an attempt to show an image of the issue, but for some reason it nothing shows up .... wtf .... google. the new mickeysoft?
Image
bleeping M$ I mean google I'll figure out another way to upload the image
or is an image added to the above sort of (or totally?) beating a dead horse?

Here is screenshot what I I see:

I'm making the progress bar cycle while it's doing things that don't show progress. It's more interactive now.
