New File Count

Postby DogSnake » Tue May 05, 2015 2:11 pm

Sorry if this is covered in another post. The New Files counts do not reset to zero after updating and opening to group. Is this a known issue or a setting I have missed?

Been having the same issue since was it beta 8. I'm guessing you dl headers like I do. You can try right clicking on the group to show posts. This is the only way I can get it to 0 out. If you did like me double clicking groups, and will always show 1 to xx number of files.

Also under server settings, really advanced try changing the overlap to 1. This was what I was given to try, but unfortunately, if I retry header dl, it still shows that files are there, but when I open up group, there is nothing, even if I turn off filters, still nothing there but newsbin will show anywhere from 1 to 4 files.

Thought I was the only one with this.

It's a timing thing. The thing that clears the count happens before the header download completes so, new headers will pump the number up.

It's probably not supposed to count if the files already exist in the DB though.

Just tried the right click and show posts command. Bingo the group resets to zero upon being closed. Double clicking then closing does a very odd thing. I can see the count at zero for about a second after closing then it resets to the last count.

I tweaked it some. You'll see it acts differently in the next beta.
