Version 6.80 Release Candidate 6 Available...

Postby dexter » Thu Mar 08, 2018 4:55 pm

More cleanup. Hoping this is the last RC before final release.

Changes in this version:
  • Fixed issue processing parless random filename files from autoloaded NZB. Symptom was you would see a flash in the download list then it would disappear with no indication of what happened.
  • Fixed issue processing some NZB's that have an illegal doctype in the header. Turns out it is case sensitive.
  • Fixed issue where auto-disable of speed limiter after a specified period of time was not working.
  • Changed the "periodic poll" message in the Logging tab to show in debug mode only
  • Fixed issue where NZB Password wasn't always getting cleaned out of the NZB Filename.
  • Added a new path variable called $(RAWSUBJECT) which leaves some numbers in the subject instead of stipping all numbers. File counters are still removed but doesn't strip "-" or "_" anymore. If the cleaned up subject is less than 10 characters, full subject is used.
  • Fixed issue with right click menus in the NZB watch folder options.
  • Fixed issue that was causing some connection weirdness when Newsbin is paused for extended times.
  • Fixed issue when using multiple path variables with no separators, values were leaking together.
  • Fixed issue where some PAR2 files were not getting paused during normal file processing.
  • Modified Read Post Body to read the first chunk of several RAR files, not just the first one. In some cases the actual name is listed in the RAR.
  • Hooked up the right click menu in NZB options.
  • Added an error messgage when manual loading a bad NZB
The full change history and the download link is on the Newsbin Beta Page.

Not sure how to explain this, but if I open up a grouping of files that were collapsed to read the nfo inside, and then collapse the group of files again, it is failing to collapse the files fully, still shows some of the files. After opening a few more groups of files and collapsing, they finally collapse fully. This behavior just started in RC6.

Weird. Yeah I see it too. I've mentioned it to Quade and told him how to recreate it.

Thanks for the report.

Got a nzb that NBP6.80RC6 tells me it failed to load as it's probably corrupt but Newsleecher doesn't seem to think so as it parses it and pulls down all articles. Does NB have a lower tolerance for bullshit then other products or is there some new formatting that you guys need to take into account? Happy to privately submit it for analysis. Cheers.

With rc6 I am seeing that NZB files that failed to download with rc5 now download OK, but even though the file has successfully downloaded and unrar’ed the entries are being left in the download list.

I can provide some of NZB files causing this behavior if wanted but since it seems to be happening for me to all of them it should be easy to reproduce without them.

Same problem as RC 5:
- I update a group and check some headers to download
- right click and "Download" or "Download-Bypass Filters"
- all the checked headers are in "Downloading Files" but nothing happens.
I have to move all the list from "Downloading file" to "Wish List" and then back to "Downloading Files" again (or close and restart Newsbin) to start the download.
Reinstalled RC 4: everything back to normal.

Tried $(RAWSUBJECT). The downloads go into a subfolder actually named "$(RAWSUBJECT)" rather than a subfolder named from the partially cleaned up subject.

Very minor, re: NZB watch folder...

Newsbin moves the nzb's after adding them to the download list to (in my case) Newsbin\Data\Nzbs and an exact copy in Newsbin\Data\Nzbs\Nzbs any need for 2 copies?

thanks

When I restart Newbin it now longer resumes a download that was going and starts all over again?

Happening with obfuscated files and normal rar files. Similar to previously but that was only doing it with long named obfuscated files which was mentioned here viewtopic.php?f=43&t=42279 and here viewtopic.php?f=43&t=41339

Tried going back to RC5 and it now won't work in that either?

Been getting a few crashes with RC6 lately. It might be my fault for closing the group tab too quickly if there are only a couple of posts. Well previously when this occurred and Newsbin crashed, once opening again, the file counts would be the same as before crashing the program. Now when you restart Newsbin, all the file counts are zeroed out so no way to tell without going through every group to check on headers.

Using this thread to report a very long-standing cosmetic bug that isn't particular to RC6.

If you arrange your columns in the download window so that "Current Progress" is leftmost, then expand a download item with the "+" button, then collapse it, the left-hand progress bars don't get cleaned up properly. Dragging the Current Progress column divider back and forth forces a redraw and clears the corrupted image.

Not a huge problem, but I always see it since I like my progress bars on the left. But since this is about the only problem I have with Newsbin, I rarely make it to the forum. :)

Cheers guys, we appreciate your efforts.

Not sure if this is a new "feature" but the last couple of Newsbins have been deleting the incomplete folder once it finished downloading and extracting something, the problem is Nzbget also uses that folder for its temporary stuff so if it doesn't exist it gets the hump! How do I stop Newsbin deleting that folder please?

Appreciate the report.

Which temp folder do you mean? The download folder or the temp unrar folder when you unrar into the the same folder as the download?

I'd toss a dummy file into the folder.

Yes it's the download folder, I use G:\Incomplete\ for the temporary downloads and then they unrar to G:\ and then I move the files to my network media player manually as there are sub folders on there, I'll try the dummy file thing :)
