Did I miss a new setting or has the the server display colors been removed from the "Downloading Files" window?

Is it nobody knows or nobody cares?

Quade has stated that he is no longer supporting server colors with the latest Newsbin versions.

I removed them for performance reasons. They can impact download speed at higher speeds. You can track per server usage in the server tab.

Thanx. Makes sense but it was handy to visually appreciate the server source performance.

Possibly an option or switch to occasionally monitor, in real time, the sources?

Well, that answers the question I had about one thing in the new beta.

I'd very much like the option to get the server display colors back and accept a performance hit, although I haven't noticed one so far....

I never say never but, I'm probably not going to put it back in. I might be interested in some proportional color in the main progress bar. Showing percentages of color based on the percent of the file downloaded from a particular server but not tracking each downloaded post to a server which is what coloring the blocks would require.

Most people haven't noticed that even the progress of each individual file is relatively coarse because of how the display data is cached.

It just occurred to me that I might be able to show percentage of color in the per file progress bar without tracking individual posts. I'll have to think about it.

I strongly suspect that every single person who used (past tense, now) all of the 6.82-style "Current Progress" information to quickly and easily verify the correct operation of Newsbin HAS noticed that lag.

It's just not as big a problem as the complete LACK of useful downloaded status colours, especially something to clearly display when parts/articles/files aren't available (like, ohh I don't know, RED!?).

Haha yeah, I have to do something about the colors before release.
