Speed Limiter Stays On

Postby Voyager62 » Wed Jun 13, 2018 9:27 am

I'd like to see the Speed Limiter status preserved across sessions. With all the problems I have with Newsbin downloading until every byte is used up, I try to keep the Speed Limiter to mitigate damage when low on disk space. It would be nice if I didn't have to remember to turn it back on for every session, especially when starting Newsbin by clicking on an NZB like since I don't need to access the console.

This feature exists already. It is not in the GUI, you set it in the .nbi file. Instructions here:

You're not using beta 2 yet?

you could do this with the scheduler too.

Thanks for the info Dexter I like just setting it up in the NBI than the scheduler, which I don't need.

I just looked at it, but since my disk space varies too much, I'd like an easy way to always keep the speed throttling on unless I'm sure I won't run out of space or need it quickly.

On the subject of editing the NBI Dexter, why isn't there a right-click option to do so with Notepad?

It's should be easy to add to the installation program when you associate NBI with Newsbin Pro. No more having to go through Open with menu and adding it the first time and changing the default back to Newsbin Pro if you forget to uncheck Always use this app.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\NewsbinPro.Document\shell\edit]

Never considered it. The .nbi options are really for one-off features that few people request or need. The .nbi file should only be edited when Newsbin is closed so making it too easy to get to could lead to more support issues for us. I'll take it into consideration though.
