Finding a Specific File Type In A Group, By Extention

Postby thwartme » Tue Jun 13, 2017 11:48 pm

Hello,

I'm looking for a way to find a specific file type in a group. I tried building a new filter that said:

Accept if - Filename contains - [.]srr

But that only seems to read the body of the filename, not the extension.

Any help please?

Thank you

You need to use "Subject Accept". "Filename" only applies during the download process.

That does not seem to be working.

I created this filter...

But when i applied it to the group, the srr file in this collection did not show up.

Any advice, please?

Thanks,

It's because what's inside the collection isn't visible without expanding it first. It basically goes from not in memory to in memory when you expand. Filtering isn't going to help here.

I'm not sure how you'd get around this to be honest. What are you trying to accomplish? Bulk load SRR files?

You know if you select a set of files and hit Ctrl-R, Newsbin will read a par, the srr and any nfo's and display it in a notepad window. It lets you probe these obscured files.

I'm looking for certain obscured posts in the midst of a large number of similarly obscured posts. I was told to read ssr files to determine which posts I needed.

I'll try the ctrl-r thing, thanks for the tip.

Ctrl-R was built specifically to help with these obscure files.

Just talking about this makes me think I should expand the functionality. Maybe a mode that automatically pulls and shows the meta-data from the SRR.

Make sure you're using one of the latest versions. They're enhanced for this.

Thanks for the help. So far it's working great. I'm using 6.73RC2.
