Support for new Usenet Posts with removed Letters?

Postby root0r » Tue Jul 04, 2017 4:39 am

Hi,

there are new Usenet Posts with removed Letters when the posted.

Example: This.is.a.Test.Post.rar > Ths.s.Tst.Pst.rar

Newsbin isn't able to unrar / repair such Kind of Posts.

U can find such Kind of Posts often in a.b.erotica in the past weeks.

Any Change that Newsbin will Support such Kind of Posts in the future?

PM me an example. You can send an NZB to ts@newsbin.com.

Make sure you're using the latest 6.80 beta.

I'll check it out. Thanks.

Yeah it worked fine for me.

I wonder if the problem is the filename length? If you have a deep path and then add the NZB Filename, this much make a path too long for normal windows?

I've downloaded a few af those files with no problems just by left clicking on the icon at the beginning of the file name.

It sounds like the files aren't in the download folder at all. When you download, do you see the individual files listed in the files list? If you right click "Open Folder" do you see them listed in explorer?

It's not a problem for the files to be the wrong name. The PAR repair code can rename them right before repair. The unrar is clearly failing and the question is why.

Is this an AMD machine? If yes, you might try deleting the par2Repair.dll from the install folder. This will force Newsbin to use a simpler more compatible version of the repair code. You'll need to exit Newsbin first before deleting.

Hi,

yes the files are in the Download Folder.

But NewsBin Change them from "<some fun missing letters>" to "<some fun with all the letters>"

Only the Par Files has untouched Filenames "something.par2"

And yes its an AMD System.

Edit: Funny with the deleted dll unrar works. What is exactly the Problem with the normal UnRAR Mode?
Edit 2: I found the culprit, i reinstalled the latest beta and checked multicore override and now everything is working as expected.

Thanks for your Support guys.

Removing the DLL is the same as the single core DLL so, either one works.

I know there's an AMD problem but I'm not sure exactly what it is yet.
