Searching through Download List

Postby re838uk » Tue Mar 01, 2011 5:35 am

Is there a way to do this in the new version?. Opening the new version seems to have loaded old files which I've already downloaded and manually searching and deleting will take too much time and I can't find the search field for it. Has it not been incorporated in v6?

Search is not currently available in the Download list although Quade has said it should arrive at some point in the beta cycle.

Beta 7 was a big update; maybe the search will be in the next one.

Yeah....I didn't want to hold B9 up.

I'm sort of torn about how to display it. Popup window, like a conventional find or try to embed something in the toolbar. I thought I might try putting find between the toolbar and the list.
I didn't like the idea of the popup.

I'm not too fond of popups, either, but if that is the prize to pay for a generalized search function that can be used in all tabs w/o using up too much screen real estate, so be it:-)

I spent all morning on it but, I figured out how to tack a combo box onto the end of the toolbar. Search works...for the most part. There's no "next" button though. It works like before, highlighting all the matches and it scrolls to the first match but, without a "next" it's up to you to scroll to the next one.

Next might be doable but, it won't be in the first cut.

Nice! I guess it can be polished and improved, later, but any form of search will be great!

sounds good.

a note, not tried it in b9 yet, but in b8 the download window would select the current downloading file automagicly, even as you were selecting other files; this would cause an issue if search was also selecting.
