Version 6.0b5: WOW!

The whole look of the new version is great, like it's been modernized -- the layout is very intuitive, the default color scheme is perfect. A very impressive update -- thanks!

You can get this either via the beta area of this forum, or via the link for the beta on the downloads area of the newsbin home site.

It is downloading nb600b4.exe. Don't look like b5 to me.

Are you sure you have not got the page cached. It downloads nb6005.exe for me.

I have to agree the look and feel of B5 is great.

Just one note it crashed right after starting up twice, both times I was in the process of expanding the columns in the download list when it crashed. The third time it came up, I expanded the columns as I like and it is still going. At least for that last 10 minutes or so, but looking good. And it just crashed again.

Just to let you know I set newsbin to running in compatablity mode for vista service pack 2 and it has not crashed since. It has now been running for 37+ minutes in this mode.

I have finally found the answer to B5 crashing at least I think so. Seems that when I installed B5 with out uninstalling B4 first there were, at least to Windows 7, two newsbin 6.000s installed. I uninstalled both and re-installed just B5 and it has not crashed yet. It has been running for about an hour now. Will let you know if it should crash again.
