Failed to move file to final destination-shouldn't happen

Postby vargasc1 » Thu Jun 30, 2011 9:39 pm

This is the error message I get after downloading a *.rar file. I go to the Newsbin Download folder. The file is there but it
has a *.rar.nb2 file extension. Can't figure out why. I'm using Newsbin Pro 6.0RC4. Anyone have a similar problem?

It means something prevented Newsbin from renaming the file. Typically this "something" is your virus scanner.

I use avast free version and have configured newsbin pro as a trusted application. Still get the same error.

Doesn't really mean much, most av out there are insidiously intrusive. Some of them, only a complete and total uninstall, which in some cases means more than just hitting uninstall, will do it. Before that, try any and all ways to completely disable it, which may require a reboot, and see if that helps. Otherwise, something else on your system is interfering.

Not having the appropriate user file permissions to the final destination folder will also cause this problem.
