Version 6.82 Beta 6 Available...

The only change in Beta 6 is to fix the registration system which got broken a few builds back. You can download it from the Beta Page

Quite a few downloads are failing in Sonarr with the error: "Download wasn't grabbed by sonarr, skipping" when of course the item was indeed grabbed by sonarr and sent to Newsbin. Not all but about 25% of my items do this. Newsbin completes the dl and the file is in the dl directory but sonarr does not accept it.

This was happening in beta 5 as well but I was not sure then that it was newsbin problem. Suggestions?

That error doesn't mean that the file wasn't sent to Newsbin but that when Newsbin was done, Sonarr didn't pick the unrared file up and store it in your media folder.

So the question is, what doesn't Sonarr like about the unrared file? Couple things to keep in mind

1 - You never want to unrar to the media folder managed by Sonarr.
2 - The unrars should go to filenames named for the NZB file.

What's different about these downloads versus the ones that actually work? You might want to look in the unrar folder and make sure the files are there. You can easily get there from the files tab.

Are you using another feeder like Radarr at the same time? Are you also manually feeding NZB's to the list? Sonarr tries to only process NZB's sourced by Sonarr.

Newsbin is Unrar the files to directories named for the nzb. Sonarr picks them up there and moves them.
Yes, I am also using Radarr but it has a category of movies, not tv and seems to be working fine although far fewer files than Sonarr.
The files in question are present and I can manually import them from within sonarr and it parses the file names for various quality tags just as normal.
I really do not see the difference between the nzbs that work and those that do not. Also some of the directories are prepended with the Cat tv ; prefix and some are not but some of each are being auto imported by Sonarr just fine and some that do not import are prefixed and some are not.

Did the email I sent to the technical support regarding certain NZB's with no pars still not working arrive?

I need to run some more tests with parless files before release. I'm working on a test jig to make this easier. So I am looking into it.

Follow up on this. I am still getting the error frequently.

I have newsbin unrar in a local directory with folders by nzb name. The result files are there, sonarr just does not like them when newsbin reports them done. The file names do not exactly match the nzb name. Unrar correctly names the files based on what the rar set calls them. But this is true for file that sonarr imports just fine as well.

I have shut off radarr for now so the two cannot get confused inside or outside of newsbin while troubleshooting this.

I am not sure what else to attempt to work this out. Suggestions? Can you duplicate the problem on your end? Perhaps I could send you some nzbs that cause the error? Just grabbing at straws here.

I've been working on a test jig so I can bang on the sonarr interface harder than I've been able to before. I've already discovered a couple oddities one is that if a duplicate NZB is sent to the interface it'll inherit some of the fields of the already downloaded set (which suggests I need to delete from history when I add a new NZB with the same contents).

Does the problem go away when you disable Radarr?

Disabling Radarr had no effect that I could tell.

Thought some more about what you said on newsbin struggling with duplicate nzbs and it may be related. I use 3 indexers in Sonarr. Some of the latest releases show up on more than one but not at the same time. If the RSS feed from one indexer adds a show episode and later it shows up on another indexer and Sonarr has not seen it complete from newsbin from the last one, it may add the new release from the second indexer as well. They very well could be the same nzb or the same rar set. Just a thought.

I've found some issued related to category support in the current beta that might explain this. Only the next beta will tell us if it's fixed.

Hi guys, just come back to NZB's after a 7 year absence - I am now setting up Sonarr & Radarr, is there a guide anywhere on how to do this with Newzbin?

many Thanks

With the recent changes in NBP why is it that it doesn't seem to interact with Sonarr as well?

It is slower for Sonarr to recognize that NBP is downloading a file and I can no longer blacklist a file if I chose to do so in Sonarr. It removes it from the download list but because they no longer seem to communicate as well it fails to add it to the blacklist. :?

I'd probably revert to the prior version till B7 comes out. B7 should have already been out but bit-defender didn't like something about it and we're trying to figure out what's up.

I've been banging away at the sonarr interface with a test tool including testing remote delete from the queue and history and it's working well.

You might try changing the download URL and see if it's still on the site.
