Show Posts is Blank

I have been off the Internet for a few years
So I start Newsbin
Select download all headers from my favourite group
It seems to download them fine (over 7,000,000)
But when I select "Show All Posts" the window is blank - no posts are shown

I have tried downloading the headers from a different news server, again it seems to download them fine, the exact same number of posts but when I click on show posts or show all posts the window is blank
I am using the latest version of newsbin

I am stumped - any ideas please ?

What version are you using?

If you look down where is shows "Cache" "Cache 400/400 (X)"

X represents the number of header blocks waiting to import until this hits "0" you won't be able to see all the headers.

What's the "storage age" set to? If the group is dead and the posts in it are older than "Storage Age" they'll get deleted on import.

The latest beta imports header maybe 10 times faster than older versions.

ON the groups where the show posts button does work I've noticed it only shows from day 15 not from today, I have no idea why it does this this ! I know there are more recent posts because I have posted them !

you have a "crapload" of blocks of headers waiting to import into the header database. Until they finish importing, you won't see a complete version of headers when you display posts.

I asked about the version because the latest RC, 6.91RC4 in the beta section imports headers far faster than older versions of Newsbin. Maybe 10 times faster.

The only bug I'm aware of in RC4 is that file posting is broken pretty badly.

If you "download all headers" from a large group, this might block seeing the headers from existing groups until all the headers are imported.

If you let the program stay open, it should be going down as it imports the headers. Even if you close and open again, it should start importing again as long as it sees the headers in the import folder.

I personally would recommend you open the program and leave it be and let it import the headers. If you try to view posts or worse, download more, it may take longer.
Until it does import them all, it won't display them all or properly.

I think one time I just deleted all that was in the import folder and told NewbinPro to download all headers for each group again. This would be much longer process depending on how many headers are in each group. It can take some hours just to download from groups with high amount of headers which has been happening, as many newsservers can go back over 6000 days so that can be a lot of headers for the very active groups.
But it's best to just let it be, sometimes I do it right before I go to bed and find it's done most activities by the time I get up, and also I am then not tempted to try to do other things in NewsBin. Once it goes to 400/400 (0) then it's ok to open groups and posts should show. If then there is still an issue, come back and let it known.

Newsbin is always open and I never turn off my PC

I've just installed the latest beta and I noticed that the count is slowly decreasing so thanks for the suggestion. Image link not allowed for unregistered users
