I really hate to report issues, as 6.90 has been around for some time.
I still won't do the 6.91 betas or RC candidates due to the [SIZES] all getting deleted from the nbi file.
(I do now have them backed up but took me days to recover all the added SIZES I made.)
I am using Windows 11 Pro, not my choice, but when I needed a new computer that was only windows they would give.
And I certainly am not downgrading to Windows 10 for several reasons.
1. The hardware and drivers, there is a good chance Win 10 won't even be able to handle that.
2. Support is going to end soon for Win 10.
But anyway, I don't know if Win11 Pro is the issue with 6.90 or not. As 6.82 works. But then I lose the added features of 6.90.
I could not remember why I used 6.82 for so long until I gave 6.90 a run again.
I download from search results or watch lists and 6.90 kept going into waiting and had to be exited, several times.
6.90 would never finish the download list, I ended up finishing with only one exit of 6.82. But I did have the one exit, but less than the several 6.90 had that looked like lockups into waiting or not responding and having to have Windows END TASK, or keep clicking the X on Newsbin.
Also, if you have posts via either groups or watch lists, deleting the post or even marking the post old does not hold they come back on re-loading 6.90. Even if you do a clean exit.
I know at one point I reported this during beta's of 6.90, but thought it got fixed.
[This does work properly in 6.82]
As for downloading, I don't know what to say. I will continue to try different things and I set things up on my computer, so I have 6.82, 6.90 and 691RC3.
Sorry for the bad report, I love Newsbin and will keep going no matter what needs to be done. I support it with a 500 search per month subscription. I don't need the unlimited, which I did for a while.
I will keep checking on my end but highly doubt the downloading is something on my end, the locking up of 6.90 and have to X could be, and I will continue to look into it.
One thing I hope to be looking at is having the system load up with the minimum of startup programs to also see if one of them might be causing an issue.
I don't want to discourage the work on 6.91 RC's and hope it continues and know there are certain obstacles that may be more important.
It's an Intel I9 Windows 11 pro with the main drive, a NVMe SSD along with a few internal and external drives. And 32GB memory, which was a big upgrade alone in getting this system going from 16GB. Using Windows Anti-virus with Malware Bytes nether has seemed to cause issues with other programs. I send downloads to the internal Hard Drives.
I look forward to 6.91 RC4 and more in the future.
