Move on to priority 2 server if priority 1 cannot connect?

Just a question. If a priority 1 server cannot be contacted, say for DNS lookup failures, will the priority 2 server(s) be tried right away or will the priority 1 servers
be tried again first?

That's a tough one to answer. I don't think I ever had my servers that cannot be contacted.
But at some point it should move on to #2, you also could disable, in Newsbin Pro, the server(s) that cannot be contacted till it's working.
As long as you still leave at least one working, things will be fine.

Some people pay significantly more for their secondary servers than for their primary. For example my secondary has limited downloads but DMCA's slower than other servers.
So I'm suggesting moving on from a dead server isn't the right answer for many. I don't think there's a universal answer.
It won't move on to a secondary server until the primary is checked first. If the connection to the primary is dead then it can't check the primary.
I'll have to think about it.

I got sucked into that there were slower takedowns on some servers.
Most providers deny it because if they don't take it down via a take-down notice which gets sent to all providers at the same time, there is no advantage to them not to take it down, only disadvantages.
Now I am not saying it don't happen, I had Eweka which is NTD (check NTD vs DMCA) for a pretty long time, the expense just got too much, and there did sometimes seem there was a small delay.
But in believing there is a big difference I am stuck with block accounts (both NTD and DMCA) that never get used I get 100% completion from newshosting, most times, which has anywhere from at least 3 to 6 different servers and if one's down the others are working so you get, at least, 99% uptime.
The times I did not get 100% the files all fell through all block accounts and just went either into incomplete or if enough pars it can be repaired.
The only limited servers I ran into were block accounts, providers offer unlimited via a monthly or yearly fee.
Watch for sales, they all have sales because very few pays full price.
