Hmm, sounds like a permission issue. Just as an experiment, try running newsbin as administrator and test again. Don't do this regularly, just to test. If it works, your spool location somehow got it's permissions altered. Network share? Also, try downloading new spool too, see what happens.

Well, you don't seem to be able to open the spools. You'll need to track down why. Try wiping a couple, re-downloading them.

Oh, this is nzb only related, you only referenced that in the subject? I'm unclear why spools would be complaining then, you don't need spools on disk to download an nzb. I'm not sure, then. I'm still suspecting something off with permissions.

How about assigning a download path to that Autoload item in the options and see if that makes it download? It sounds like the autoload isn't getting a valid download path. Look in the NZB options, you should see an item in the list for your current autoload. Select it and hit properties to assign a download path.

I've been told that downloading to the root of the drive is broken,

X:\ - for instance is broken but,
X:\DL\ isn't.

Was it to the root of a drive? That's on my fix list for the next beta.

To clarify, then, so you know in case it happens again, the problem was you didn't have permissions to download or extract in the original location.
