Newsbin 6.90 RC3 Display Age Memory Usage

I tried out 6.90 RC3 the other day. I found memory usage was much higher than 6.82.

I generally keep 3 watch groups open. One of them is quite old and I switch the Display Age dropdown control to the current month. In this case it is "21: October".

In 6.82, Process Explorer showed the memory usage as:
Virtual Size: 5,912,080 K
Private Bytes: 1,421,568 K
Working Set: 43,512 K

In 6.90 RC3:
Virtual Size: 20,281,312 K
Private Bytes: 15,741,660 K
Working Set: 7,893,244 K

In 6.82, if I switch Display Age to Show All Files, then I get similar memory usage. So, maybe 6.90 RC3 is keeping filtered articles in memory after Display Age is applied, while 6.82 does not.

Virtual Size: 29,781,284 K
Private Bytes: 25,205,380 K
Working Set: 6,716,420 K

I'm checking it out. Thanks.

One change I just made is that watch lists now obey "Display Age" so, loading one won't load up all N days by default.

This is still happening to me in 6.90 RC6. It look 50 minutes for the group to load just now and NBP is using 18 GB of "Private Bytes" and 27 GB of "Virtual Size".

In 6.82, I open the group and then switch the Display Age to the current month. It aborts attempting to load the entire group and loads just the articles applicable to the newly selected display age.
