Neswbin 6.82 runs in background only.

I have been running Newsbin in a Win10 Virtual Machine for a year without any issues.
In the last week, I am running into an issue where when executing Newsbin, it starts in the background. I can only see it running through Task Manager.
Nothing pops up on the screen.
I can End Task, and restart Newsbin, but nothing changes.

Any ideas on what I can do?

Thanks

In the newsbin data folder, I might try deleting "Workspace.xml" which saves the screen layout. Some of the screen stuff is in the registry too.

Weird.., wondering if there is a forum issue.. logged in, typed reply when clicking Submit it's asking me to login.... lost my reply.. :x

Either way. I deleted the Workspace file... no change.
I really do not think it's a screen layout issue. If it was that then I would at least see the Newsbin logo starting up.., there would be a minimized program or even an icon in the task bar.
I get none of these.

The Workspace file doesn't get recreated after deleting it. Nor did the config file.
The only response I get is when I renamed spool_v6 folder. Got a popup that the folder wasn't there. Creating an empty folder didn't help either.

Weird...., left it running before for a few days nothing, but now if just came up.
Looks like spool_v6 was the only thing I left empty.
Not sure...

How much do you have in the download list? Might be worth clearing out all the DB3 files in the data folder. "DownloadMarker" is used for "old and new" status. The rest hold the download and files lists. Filters.

From your symptoms, it suggests Newsbin is churning away at something on startup.
