Download speed during auto-par/unrar

Postby quero » Sat Mar 10, 2012 12:13 pm

Dear all,

usually my donwloads run at full speed until newsbin starts to repair/unrar the first downloaded file, the speed then drops from 50mbps to about 10 mbps. Is there anything I can do to increase the download speed?

Thanks in advance for your help!

If you edit the NBI file and add

[SETTINGS]
ChunkCacheSize=N

where N is > 100 you can increase the amount Newsbin can download while the disks slow down. You might try setting it to 200 or 300. Just keep in mind that this consumes RAM.

If you look on the status bar, you'll see Cache: (NN/MM). That's what this setting changes.

Thanks, this works well. It would be good if this setting could be changed out of the settings menu without having to edit a config. file with the text editor. Just to give you an idea for the upcoming versions Image link not allowed for unregistered users
